Products represent the stock of goods in Inventory. Products can be either procured from suppliers or rendered to customers depending upon the nature of the company.

As your company is selling one or more types of product, you can include the products in Second CRM to be attached to customers' accounts or quotes and invoices that need to be sent.

You may import or export the list of all products. To use these functions you will need import or export privileges set by your Second CRM administrator.

You may create a Product entry directly from the Products module. This will require you to enter Product details manually. To create a new Product entry manually in Second CRM, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to All > Product and Service > Productsat the navigation area.
  2. Click on the + Add Product button as shown below:


    Once you have clicked the button, your screen should appear just like the figure below:


  3. Enter Product information. Fields marked with an asterisk [ * ] are mandatory.
  4. Once done, click the Save button to transfer your data to your Second CRM database.

For Products’ pricing, you can set it individually under each Product. You can find the pricing portion just below the product information as shown below:


The default currency is Ringgit Malaysia (RM), though you can add prices in other currencies as well by clicking more currencies>>. A pop-up screen will appear like below:

Unit Price You should enter a price per unit. This price may be the list price you pay when you purchase this product from a supplier or third party.
The selling price may be different as defined in you price lists (see section: Price Books).
Commission Rate You may enter your commission in %.
Tax Class You can find the taxes under the 'Pricing Information' block. You may enter a tax in % that applies to the product.
The Second CRM administrator will configures the tax types and rates. Only tax types defined by the administrator will be displayed. You may change the tax amount if necessary but not the tax type.

Second CRM supports you in maintaining a stock of goods. You may specify stock information and assign a user to be responsible for maintaining the stock as shown below:

Usage Unit You may enter the type of units of goods in your stock.
This list can be modified by your Second CRM administrator.
Qty/Unit You may enter a number of goods per unit (e.g. 15 pieces of goods in each unit).
Qty in Stock You may enter the quantity in stock. This information is used by Second CRM when making quotes, orders or invoices. Whenever you make a quote etc. the quantity in stock is displayed and reduced automatically if you sell a product.
Handler You should assign user responsible for maintaining the stock. This person will automatically be informed by Second CRM if goods are sold.
Reorder Level Here you may enter the minimum quantity of goods you want to keep in stock. If Second CRM detects that during the sales process the actual quantity in stock gets close to the minimum amount, the person in charge of the stock will be notified by e-mail.
Qty. in Demand Here you may note the quantity of goods you usually buy.

You may add images to your Product. The image must be in .jpg, .gif or .png format. You should keep the image size as small as possible to avoid time consuming downloads every time you open this page.

Do not use file extensions with capital letters (JPG, GIF, PNG).


To View Products details information:

  1. Click on the Product name and your screen should appear just like below:


  2. The right side tab will display a view of the relations of the Products module with other modules, and maintains a log of the Product’s complete history in Second CRM.

You can perform the following operations by clicking on the Actions drop down button in list view:
  • Select Edit to modify selected record(s.)
  • Select Delete to delete selected record(s).
  • Select Import or Export to Import or Export a list of Products.
  • Select Find Duplicate to find duplicate record(s).

List of operations you can perform on detail view of a Product record:
  • Click Edit to modify existing content.
  • Click on More > Delete to delete the Product record.
  • Click on More > Duplicate to clone the Product record.
  • Click on More > Create Quote to create a new quotation from the Product record.
  • Click on More > Create Invoice to create a new invoice from the Product record.
  • Click on More > Create Purchase Order to create a new purchase order from the Product record.
  • Click on More > Create Sales Order to create a new sales order from the Product record.

Field Information

Product Active By marking this check box, a product becomes active and is available for purchase.
Sales Start/End Date You may select a time frame in which your company sells this product.
Support Start/Expiry Date You may select a time frame in which this product is maintained.
Product Category Here you may select a category for your product. Note that only your Second CRM administrator can modify this list.
Vendor Name If you sell third party products, you may select a vendor here.
Part No If each of your products have their own part numbers, you may enter them here.
Vendor Part No If your vendor has provided you with a part number for ordering the product, you may enter it here.
Serial No If each of your products have a special serial number, you may enter it here.
Product Sheet You may enter the name of a product data sheet that is available from other sources.
GL Account This entry refers to a General Ledger Account and is useful if you are importing/exporting items from your accounting program. Each account in your General Ledger usually has a number for reference purposes.
Unit Price Specify the price of the Product. You can impose different taxes and work with different currencies.
Handler Select from the users or groups to specify a Product owner.
Qty. in Stock Specify the Quantity of stock present in the Inventory.
Product Image Provide an image of your product.
